Website design

In 2010-2011, during a sabbatical from my job as an editor and page designer at the Times Colonist. I studied web design at Camosun College. The program allowed me to bring together my interests and skills in writing, editing and design.

Since that time I have helped to build websites for Bradley Dow Financial Services (a financial advisor), Willow King Spa in Oak Bay, Wear2Start Society (a non-profit organization that provides workplace attire to women in need) and the BC Government House Foundation (which supports the programs of each Lieutenant Governor and enhancements to Government House, the LG’s official residence in Victoria). Please take a look at some of these sites in the links, below.

If you’re interested in discussing how I can help you put together an effective online message, please get in touch.

I had the pleasure of working with Angela as she created the website for our spa. I had an idea of what I wanted it to look like, what I wanted it to portray, but I couldn’t see a vision clear enough nor could I figure out how to explain it.

Angela got to work quickly and efficiently, taking notes and asking questions. She not only created the website but she did all of the writing and editing for it. Checking in with me as she went and being a part of so much more than just the background work. She assisted the photo shoot we had ensuring we were capturing all the right images for the website.

When Angela showed me the first draft of my website, I couldn’t believe she was able to portray my thoughts in such a beautiful way! What she created was so much more than what I had envisioned, so much more than just a website. She created a first look, the first impression that the public, my future clients would see. I am so proud of our website and the feedback we have received and would highly recommend her to help portray your vision.

Angela has created a welcoming space to introduce our office to the public.  In particular, she has taken a large amount of “raw” information about what we do —and how we do it – and simmered it down to its essence.  Add her solid understanding of how the general public use the internet, and you get an effetive website that is user-friendly and concise.
